I made it to Fiji!!! I am sitting in the cafe waiting for my transfer, which is in about 2 hours, so decided to buy some internet time and waist some time.

Here are a few thoughts I complied on my way here:
1. I do not have to deal with snow for ONE YEAR!!!!
2. My luggage will make it to LA as I saw it get on the plane in Seattle (side note - it made it all the way to Fiji!!!)
4. Am sad that there is no one to meet me at the airport no matter where I go as I like getting met at the airport...oh well....5 months and I will have a crowd!
5. Wonder if the resort will remember to pick me up (still wondering as I sit here...)
6. The complimentary wine on my first flight was awesome.....wish I could have had it on my second flight!
7. LAX is one of the worst airports I have ever been in. Edmonton's airport puts this airport to shame. The airports in Vietnam put this airport to shame.
8. I am a total dork as I find it funny that my Air Pacific flight has 69 rows on it.....LOL

Anyways....that is a list I made on my way here. The flights went well, the first being the tightest and the last being the longest. I actually slept for a lot of my flight to Fiji - that gravol worked very well - and am kinda awake right now and not totally in a daze like i usually get after flying. I got to sit on the second level of the Air Pacific flight - but it was still economy , though was fun to climb the stairs! There was a compartment next to me by the window, so was able to put my backpack in there to give me more leg room (and the vodka I bought in LA - that is how I am going to make friends ). The plane was older as my headset didn't work very well, and sometimes I didn't hear the sound on the movie. Watched parts of Ramona and Beezus (recognized alot of the story from the books), and would use it to gage how long I slept as just left it on as I couldn't figure out how to turn the TV off!

We finally got to Fiji and it kinda sucks coming in in the morning as I am flying over this beautiful land, and all I see is dark and random lights. Would have loved to see the ocean just a little bit rather than an expanse of dark. When I excited the plane, the humidity hit me like a brick. OMG.....sooooo hot and humid....... We walked along a platform to the inside of the terminal, and there were tons of people taking pictures of the plane as we had a full on view (including your's truly). As we entered the terminal - there was a 3-piece "band" playing for us as we entered! Such an awesome touch and great welcome to the island. Customs was a breeze and BOTH of my bags made it!!

Now - here I am waiting for my transfer - and drinking Fiji water (you know, the bottled water) in Fiji!!! I'm a dork - but that is super cool, and, yes, I took a picture. The airport is small, but the people are very friendly and helpful, so am hoping that I will be found sitting here as this is where the info desk told me to sit!

Hope you are all having fun in the snow (hee, hee) as am already in flip flops and don't want to take them off for a very long time (side note, this means I can get that foot tattoo!!!). I miss you all already, though am actually feeling much more secure in my decision at the moment. I am in Fiji for goodness sakes! Who could be sad here.
